Apparently not since I just typed the word. Plus today is the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. (ADA)–something definitely recognizable.

But I do want to stray a little from my usual topic.

Like millions of others this past weekend oh, I went to the movies. I decided to take a break from the endless emails. I seem to be sending out looking for opportunities to publicize my book–My Unexpected Life. Yet, I didn’t choose to lose myself in a sea of pink and Barbie. Instead, I went and saw Oppenheimer–a black-and-white film about the creation of the atomic bomb.

Is that weird?

The subject is heavy, and it’s not a feel-good story. Plus, it’s a three-hour epic. Still, I found myself totally immersed in the film. (And it wasn’t just because Cillian Murphy’s eyes are dreamy.) The acting was outstanding, and as with many Christopher Nolan movies, there’s much nuance that I probably didn’t catch this time, which means I’ll have to watch it again. I don’t know if he’ll go to the theater again or if I’ll just wait for it to stream, but I’ll definitely take a second look!

Barbie is definitely next time on my list – especially because there are supposed to be disabled Barbies!

So much for me, trying not to write about disability.

Until the next!
